In late 2015 Plymouth College of Art purchased Palace Court close to Plymouth’s Barbican site on the Hoe with a view to overhaul the site into a dedicated teaching and exhibition campus for creative extended diploma students. Before the major refurbishment of the site could commence, Gilpin Environmental had to remove over 1500m2 of asbestos sprayed coatings. Imposed with very strict deadlines, Gilpin worked extensively with both the client and appointed analytical laboratory and successfully completed the project on schedule.
